Our Mission

The Sprout + Stem Co. was created in 2017 by Wren Sayler, a San Francisco bay area native and plant enthusiast, looking to share her love and knowledge of horticulture with the world. Sprout + Stem believes that the plants that surround us in our personal and shared spaces serve more than just an aesthetic purpose; they are an active part of our environment that bring an irreplaceable positive energy into a space. In an effort to bring the best of the outdoors to each and every job, our plants are hand picked by Wren at local greenhouses and nurseries around the bay. We pride ourselves on treating plants as a vital part of any space, and providing them with the care and respect that they need, and truly deserve.

Our Story

After receiving her degree in Marketing and Management with a focus on buying in 2013, Wren went on to work as an assistant manager and plant buyer for Paxton Gate, a small retail shop in San Francisco’s Mission district, where she realized and cultivated her passion for horticulture and botany through studying and caring for houseplants. Upon her exit from retail, she began working as a full-time buyer for a floral company, overseeing the buying and curation of all plant products, creating houseplant arrangements for monthly commercial clients and personal orders, providing care for all plant stock in the production warehouse, and balancing the budgets of the plant department accordingly. In spring of 2017 she left her position at the flower shop and started Sprout + Stem, hoping to create a plant supply company focused on providing a homegrown, personalized, genuine experience to all clients and customers. Wren hopes to continue to grow Sprout + Stem, providing plant supply, care, and consignment items to businesses and office spaces alike.
